How do you make book covers out of paper bags.

Please be pretty specific…..

This is from:…How to Make a Paper Book Cover————————————–…This book cover is created from a brown paper grocery bag and can be made to fit most book sizes.Steps:1. Cut along the side seam of a brown paper grocery bag and cut out the bottom of the bag. You will be left with a rectangular sheet of paper that measures approximately 17 by 36 inches.2. Place the paper horizontally on a flat work surface – logo side up.3. Set your book on top of the paper. Center the book and use a pencil to mark the paper along the top and bottom edges of the book.4. Remove the book from the paper and fold the top and bottom edges toward the center of the paper from the marked lines. Your book cover will now be the same height as your book.5. Set the book, open, back on the paper, aligning it with the folds. Center the book and fold the left and right edges of the paper over the front and back covers of the book.6. Check that the left edge of the paper reaches halfway across the inside front cover and that the right edge covers the same distance on the back cover when the book is closed. Trim the right and left edges of the paper if necessary.7. Keep the left and right edges of the paper folded in on the front and back covers of the book.8. Tape each fold in place at the top and bottom of the paper to form pockets for the front and back covers of the book. Use transparent cellophane tape and be sure not to tape the book itself.9. Decorate the book cover with crayons, stickers or rubber stamps.Tips:You can use comics from the newspaper instead of a brown paper bag.Use brown or white craft paper instead of a grocery bag if you want a tidier look.

How to cover a textbook with plastic bags or newspaper? (NOT PAPER BAGS. NO)?

I cant find a SINGLE tutorial on making book covers out of newspaper or plastic bags. All I get are tuts for paper bags. I DONT HAVE ANY PAPER BAGS FFS -.- And I’m not buying an overpriced book sleeve. Best answer gets a 5.

you can apply the same principle for making a paper book cover to using plastic bag or newspaper.Basically start with a rectangle. It needs to be about 4 inches wider than your book’s total width (edge of cover, front to back (like a belt). It needs to be about 4 inches ‘taller’ also.Take the rectangle, center the book. Mark the ‘top’, the bottom, and both sides with the book closed. Then fold on those lines, the top and bottom stay folded, while the ‘ends’ or sides get opened up to slide in the front and back cover. You can crease paper, but plastic needs to be secured with tape to hold the cover on. Do not tape directly on the book, only over the folded edges.

anyone know any websites that teach you how to cover a textbook with brown paper bags from the super market…

Here’s How:Cut open a brown paper shopping bag. Remove the flap formed by the bottom of the bag so that you have one large sheet of brown paper. Place the book in the center of the paper. Wrap the paper up across the bottom of the book and make a crease along the bottom cover. Repeat Step 3 for the top of the book. Remove the book from the paper.Fold the paper up at the bottom crease and down at the top crease. You should have a strip of paper big enough to cover the book from top to bottom. Place the book back in the center of the paper. Wrap the paper across the front of the book from left to right and adjust the book position until the two ends of the paper are even. Fold the overlap around the front cover of the book and make a crease. Then insert the front cover of the book into the slot created by the paper folded over at the top and the bottom. Slide the paper down over the book until you hit the crease. Repeat Step 8 for the back cover of the book. If the cover fits snugly, you can stop at this point. If it seems a little loose or the top and bottom folds are not lying flat, you can use small pieces of tape to pull the front and the inside flap together a little more securely.Tips:If your supermarket no longer offers paper bags, buy a roll of the brown paper designed for wrapping parcels and use that instead. Cut a piece long enough to cover the front, back and spine of the book with at least three inches of overlap at either end.Do not tape the paper cover to the actual cover of the book; the paper cover will move a little when the book opens, and you could damage the book cover. What You Need:TextbooksPaper bags or a roll of brown parcel paperScissorsTape

How do I cover a small book with a paper bag?

So, I know how to cut up a paper bag to cover a big textbook, but now I need to know how to cover a SMALL book, a novel (Catcher in the Rye :P) with a paper bag. How do I cut the bag up so that it fits my small book?

It’s the same thing, just on a smaller scale. Cut the bag so it’s about an inch bigger than the book all the way around, then tape it in place like you would a larger textbook.

How do you cover a book with a paper bag….

I need this tonight help…

Oh, WOW. Like the first responder said. That certainly took me on a ride back through time. Thanks, I needed that. lolThat’s exactly how you do it & I used to love to decorate my with flowers, stickers, and all kinds of colors. (For art & such) For more serious studies, like pre-law…I made the book cover look like some legal document with mostly lettering work.We also used to use left over art paper, like those crazy sheets of spiraling colors….which you can also duplicate by coloring on a paper bag, but it’s not quite as shimmery and pretty.

  1. [DELDUP()]-put book opened up on itwow2.Cut out the bottom.enjoyJust go to Walgreens and buy one of the stretch book covers, they are awesome.

  2. Take a grocery-size paper bag…rip off the handles. cut down ONE STRAIGHT LINE down one of the 4 edges, and cut out the rectangular bottom of the bag. You should now have a long peice of brwon paper bag. put your book in and fold/cut the top & bottom of the bag to adjust to your book’s size. fold the sides over about 3-4 inches and put the covers of the book inside of the flaps. Tape it.5)Tape it for support

  3. seventh decorate with odd drawing sayings whatever you likeWhy do you need a website it quite simple, obviuously cut down one edge of the paper bag, fold flat lay your book in the centre, just like wrapping a gift, snip the edges ie beside the spine so they fold in the right places and fold down edges to inside and tape.hey how easy or get someone to show you.

  4. WAAAAYYY backhahaha ur school started before mine!!If you have a standard-size paperback, a sheet of construction paper is about the right size to use. I’m pretty sure that’s what my copy of Frankenstein is still wrapped in.

  5. 4)do the same to the side …except! you fold it an inch in and between the fold/creace slide the cover on(while books open)

  6. 3)fold the top and bottom of the bag so its even with the book (fold it like an inch so you have a smooth edge on it/thick edge)

  7. 2) place book on writing sideOpen a large grocery paper bag….With the book open trace the book on the bag.4. Have someone else trace the book’s shape on the paper.

  8. you will need to leave extra room 1/1/2in around the edges on the sides so you can fold in and tape!

  9. First cut off the bottom of the bag. You should have what looks like a square with a hole in the bottom and top. Then, make one cut from top to bottom and lay the cover flat. Next, lay the book over the cover and fold down the top and the bottom to match, do the same with the sides and tape them

  10. It sounds more complicated than it is, once you get started you will see how it all comes together!

  11. 6. Lay the book flat again and start folding the paper around the book and taping into place. Leave a little extra space so when the book closes your cover will not rip.

  12. shrink the bag so which you will open it flat around the table. Take an present hide off a text textile e book it particularly is the scale e book you want to hide. Use the present hide as a development. Now you have 2 books and 2 covers. do not ignore the scotch tape.

  13. cut down one side of the bag, until you get to the bottom. Cut off the bottom of the bag and discard. Use the rest of the bag. Lay it out so the long side is in front of you. Fold in the top and bottom until they are a bit taller than your book. Fold one of the side ends in, and insert one part of the cover of your book. Fold the bag over the rest of the book. Allow about 3 or 4 inches extra on the end which is not inserted in the book, cut off the rest. Fold the leftover part of the bookcover over, and insert the other cover of the book in. Close the book.cut open a grocery size paper bag. Place open book on it to measure. Warning allow extra on sides! Cut if needed to allow enough to fold down paper bag to equal measure of top of book. Cut if need to allow enough to fold up to egual measure of bottom of book. Close book and bring folded front over. The extra can be slid onto the cover of the book. Repeat for back. Decorate as desired.

  14. Place the book, opened, on the flattened out sack. Cut to shape, but leave a good couple of inches all around. Then fold the top and bottom of the cut bag so that its the same size as the book. Then fold each end so that its slightley longer than the book on each end. The ends of each book cover should be able to actually slide into the fold, then all you have to do is put tape where the top and bottom fold over each other.
